I think emergent Christians are little-b baptists. They embody the baptist ethos in a way that few others have.
Though I attend a traditional church, I appreciate the "conversation" and how emergents are helping us be Christian in the post-modern world.

James Fowler's "Stages of Faith" changed my life.
William James's "Varieties of Religious experience"
McLaren's "Generous Orthodoxy" expressed something I tried to say in a paper I wrote in seminary....he said it waaaayyyy better
What music best articulates your soul?
depends on the mood. Almost anything....'cept country.
Who are the historical baptist personalities you identify with most?
William Newton Clarke.....but that could just be because I did a major paper on him.
Who are the theologians, philosophers, teachers, etc. that you live in dialog with?
see books above and add Tillich, Barth, George Lindbeck, John Cobb, Josiah Royce, Martin Buber, and whomever I'm reading at the time.
*an astute reader may notice some contradiction in my list. I'm ok with that.
